YOU being prepared to take care of YOURSELF and FAMILY is Disaster Preparedness additionally Emergency Communications is like having insurance BEFORE an accident. Do you buy car insurance AFTER an accident??? NO, of course NOT!!!

WARNING! what you may think is a smoke detector in your home, most likely is NOT! It's most likely an "ionization" detector. Works ok for flame fires but NOT for SMOKE, your family will be dead 95% of the time before the "ionization" detector goes off. You ALSO need a SMOKE detector, a Photoelecctric "P" type to protect for smoke! for about $ 21 at Wal-Mart. OR get a smoke/Fire detector for $ 20 to $ 25 at Lowes or Home Depot. The type Fire Departments usually "give away" are the WRONG Type! Go to the following link to see a fairly accurite description of the differences: http://www.howstuffworks.com/smoke.htm do NOT risk your life on opinions - seek the FACTS. By the way, ionization detectors need to be replaced or keep it AND ADD another one - the radioactive sensor has a half life of 3 years - read it's instructions.

All Americans should take Personal Responsibility TODAY for themselves and their Families! Go to http://www.ready.gov and get a personal, and business preparedness plan. Put some water and non-perishable food aside for all family members, and don’t forget to rotate supplies monthly. Contact us at NRC if you need help to make a more complete list. Make a kit for each car, work AND home.

NRC’s CEO Lawrence E. Henson is an Extra Class AE6JI Ham Radio Operator,. Larry and Jill operate over 30 two-way radios and scanners out of NRC’s Office in Hesperia (and now NC). Check out Larry's personal web site for Ham Radio at: AE6JIHamRadio.Tech.officelive.com
Emergency Communications has been important to our fellow Citizens, since WWII. With the cities, counties, and federal government putting “all their eggs in one basket” due to the belief (and some not so altruistic reasons) that “centralized” is good – WE must expand and use a volunteer based Emergency Communications network! Earthquakes and other natural disasters have proven this MANY times. The World Trade Center, Okalahoma and other manmade “disasters” have also further proven this statement. The government systems fail in every major Disater as they are too complicated and use to much battery power so them must use generators that run out of fuel.

We would also like to trade for some of the latest “too sophisticated” radio equipment to augment our many basic radio systems. We have a lot of basic equipment that we could trade, equipment that can actually be used by anyone. We run 3 towers, 10 base antennas, 6 long wire, and over 20 mobile antennas. Call us first and then come over! We have many systems for trading and full test equipment for all types of electronics and Larry sets up backup power and communication systems and is a CA General Contractor. With over 20 years in Main Frame Computer hardware and software experience CAD-CAM-CAE watching almost everything electronic that we use today and in the future, be designed. There is more to come!

Contact all of your family and friends; let them go to QRZ.com, practice tests, Technician – practice until they get 70%. After that schedule a test and take it. The more, Hams the better. I also urge all to learn the ITU phonetic alphabet – not “funny phonetics. Also use American English, not other languages. As this too will save MANY lives… We ARE USA Americans of some decent - NOT something or something dash America! Don't allow others (progressives and anti-Americans) to divide us and conquer!

ITU phonetic alphabet is generally understood by Amateurs Radio Operators, Military, and Pilots in all countries. Used when giving your call sign or passing information that must be spelled out for clarity. For example, AE6JI should sign ALPHA ECHO SIX JULIET INDIA

A - Alfa       B - Bravo     C - Charlie    D - Delta         E - Echo
F - Foxtrot   G - Golf       H - Hotel      I - India          J - Juliet
K - Kilo        L - Lima       M - Mike      N - November   O - Oscar
P - Papa      Q - Quebec  R - Romeo    S - Sierra        T - Tango
U - Uniform   V - Victor   W - Whiskey   X - X-Ray     Y - Yankee   Z - Zulu
